Todd Beardsley has been critical of the communities in relation to such a low level black and allowing only one parent, the high crime rate and high illiteracy rate. He encouraged the ownership of these problems and a more proactive within the black community to address these problems. He expanded his comments to San Jose, CA, during an event to promote the Classic Read-2-lead. The way his speeches were presented by popular media provoked communities very angry black. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) made similar comments in relation to the decline of the black American family.)
