How I can apply (back) of property taxes that we pay for a foreclosure?

We bought a foreclosure in November 2008. We pay substantial property taxes back into the new house. We have not received a Form 1098 for this part of our property taxes. Our lender is said to use our HUD statement to show the back taxes. I fear that the IRS does not have the documents we have paid these taxes.
