Try to research on the family in the Czech Republic and need help?
I found a folder I'm 99.9% sure www.familysearch.org is my great-grandfather. Lists his mom and dad, but more information is not them. From this record, I discovered that my great grandfather was born in the Czech Republic. Now, I can not find a website I can get more information about my fathers ancestors. I tried to Ancestry.com and have no records of my grandfather to save her death certificate. And no information on Ancestry.com on their parents. Someone else has other ideas. I tried to search for vital records in the Czech Republic, but the majority come Web sites in languages I can not read. I would be grateful for any help in this matter. Thank you.
Is there a family member to all that you can get contact? great-aunt, cousin, anyone? There are old documents or documents that your family can have? Assuming that your grandfather was religious ….. Contact the church who was married and see if they have information about it. if the church has been in the U.S., will be easier because things are in English. I did and it worked for me with my Slovak family. What exactly I want to know. A city? parents in the Czech Republic? Slovak When I was researching my family, I a very long and difficult. change of borders, vovoidships change, etc. What I did was go to Slovakia white pages and write my name Slovak. All names come from this particular region. When I went to visit my family in Poland, I rented a car and drove to the area in Slovakia. I found a church in the largest city (Still small) and I got said it would file a building the church on the street. I went there and was fortunate that the priest spoke excellent English. It was looking through the record books, but returned to 1900, just after my great grandfather was born. He said he went to a town about 15 minutes. They had a File type siege. I went there and looked through the files. I knew my grandfather back full name and approximate year of birth. Not only is my town, but the birthplace of my grandfather. He was in another village about 10 minutes. I know that may not be able to go to the Czech Republic, (but you must is amazing), but I hope my story gives you ideas. When searching in the dark like this, it must be like a detective and see where the path may lead. You never know what little information they give correct! Churches are good places to start, because they have baptism, marriage and funerals. In addition, a large part of the Czech Republic has not been destroyed during World War II, so bet a lot of archive buildings, churches, etc. are still there. Have you checked the Ellis Island site? If you would a good idea to learn some basic words .. Czech at least, things like name, date, city, etc. Czech can use those sites. send an email if you have further questions and good luck!
